In Case of Emergency

If any emergency occurs when a student is off-campus, the student will be most effectively served by first contacting the host organization on-site.

Students and families should have the emergency contact information of on-site staff. If you are having difficulty contacting the host institution, OCS may be able to assist. OCS can be contacted in the case of emergency by calling Bowdoin Security at +1 207 725 3500.

Remember that Bowdoin students have access to Travel Guard WorldRisk Assistance when they are traveling outside the United States. This is an emergency assistance service designed to assist you with extraordinary needs.

US Citizens are recommended throughout OCS's advising process to have registered for the State Department's Smart Traveller Enrollment Program (STEP) for alerts regarding in-country emergencies.
